Cyber Choices – Cyber Prevent  The Regional Cyber Crime Unit

The Cyber Prevent Team work within the West Midlands Regional Organised Crime Unit.
Cyber Choices is a national programme led by The National Crime Agency.
The team support colleagues and partners in the West Midlands, West Mercia, Staffordshire & Warwickshire police regions.

Cyber Choices is all about helping young people to make the right choices in their online behaviour. We want to support them in understanding the law and making informed decisions when using technology. We promote positive, legal cyber opportunities, both in training and skills development and in future careers.

We work with individuals who are at risk of, or on the cusp of, committing cyber-dependent crimes. We aim to avoid criminalisation of these young people, and work with them to educate them about the Computer Misuse Act.

We also offer free training for school staff and other partners about the Cyber Choices programme, including when and how to make a referral to us.

Our Team

The West Midlands Cyber Choices Team is here to provide you with advice and support to help you better understand the legal and ethical use of technology. Our aim is to divert people positively, not to criminalise them unnecessarily.
